The Tamworth Community Nurse Association will kick off a year long series of once monthly programs focused on a wide variety of health oriented subjects, titled “Get Healthy Tamworth!” this month.
The first program will be held this SATURDAY, FEB. 15th at 9:30am at the Tamworth Lyceum, located in the heart of Tamworth Village.
The newest member of the TCNA team, Marie Vaselsky, a registered dietician and board certified diabetes educator who hold a master’s degree in nutrition/adult education, will speak and answer questions at the kick off program. The topic of the Feb. 15 program will be a presentation focused on eating to improve your health and how to lower your cholesterol through diet. In conjunction with this program, TCNA has offered cholesterol blood test screening at the TCNA office on Feb. 11th.
In addition to the monthly programs, TCNA has formed a weight loss group which met last evening at 5:30pm in the Ulitz Room of the Cook Library. The weight loss group will continue to meet on Wednesdays at 5:30 at the Cook Library. Marie Vaselsky will also be present at these meetings to answer questions and to make suggestions.
